Months 4–9 · Toward 75 - breaking the single-cell barrier
Engagement & Discipleship
Retain and disciple people through small groups, spiritual growth, and genuine community - moving from pastor-centric to team-led.
What to do in this phase
4 key steps
These are the same items you can check off in your progress tracker.
Establish weekly rhythms
Run consistent hybrid services plus midweek groups. Launch your first small groups (4–6 week commitments).
Try this: Start groups once you have 30–40 regulars; multiply a group around 12–15.
Create connection opportunities
Host events - service projects, shared meals, virtual hangouts - that build relationships beyond Sunday.
Try this: Plan at least one connection event per month.
Develop discipleship pathways
Offer classes on core beliefs and add mentorship. Make the next step obvious for everyone.
Try this: Track each person's progress along the pathway.
Communicate consistently
Send weekly updates with stories, prayer, and wins. Share impact, not just announcements.
Try this: Communicate 2–3 times per week; watch your email open rate.
